KOTONA-hankkeessa on tarkoitus uudistaa maaseudun kehittämisen käytänteitä vastaamaan digitaalisen ajan vaatimuksia. Hankkeen inspiraation lähteenä on Japanin kotiseutulahjoitusmalli, jossa kotiseututunne on yhdistetty maaseudun ja elinvoiman kehittämiseen.
